Service Packs, Reboots, Long Walks In The Rain
Seeing as I downloaded Visual C++ Express 2005 from Microsoft now, and seeing that I wanted to get it for a long time, I tried installing it... But then, I needed XP's Service Pack 2, which basically ruins my whole life. I just hope that everything I heard, and that all the complaints, are false.
I read somewhere that it only causes problems if you don't know what you are doing, so let's find out if I know anything. If I don't make another blogpost here for 2 years, then obviously my monitor melted, and everything exploded. Even though I amin love with Linux (Debian in specific), I cannot really criticize Microsofts software too much. I think their main aspect of annoyance is their monopolistic attitude and setup of "We have yet another update and uprade to xxx, please get it or everything else won't work and break. We are not forcing you to do anything, but stuff will break if you don't jump on our command"... Other than that, they have good software...
I will keep my MS and Linux boxes around together though, need them both. Impaled's Uptime is at 45 days now. Single reboot since its installation.
Ok, SP2 installation seems done. Let's see what happens...
